supply for the citizens of St Asaph. Back in 1865 the water available from various sources wasn't always hygienic. The bishop's memorial fountain - adorned with Biblical quotations about water - was eventually supplanted by piped water but the fountain fund carried on giving, relieving the poor of the water rate.
