Church linked to Roman's dream

St Peblig's Church in Caernarfon is linked to Magnus Maximus' dream of a beautiful woman who lived in an area of mountains ...

and valleys. It took his scouts a while to reach Snowdonia from Magnus' home in Rome but when they reached it they soon found Helen, the woman he had seen in his dreams. One of their sons was Publicius (Peblig in Welsh), who is said to have founded a church near the Roman camp of Segontium in 433AD.
