by Mormons. Smith was killed when an angry mob over-ran the prison, but Daniel Jones escaped their attention and eventually returned to Wales to convert many more people. Mormon meetings were held at the Bull Hotel, Abergele, probably at his instigation. He died in Utah in 1861, leaving three wives.
