Chapel's debt to the Rev James

James Buckley's face is familiar to Welsh beer drinkers from labels on bottles of "The Rev James" ale. Another of his legacies is a Powys chapel built in 1798 on ...

land which was donated by the travelling preacher, whose family had been brewing beer since 1767. Pentre Llifior chapel, near Newtown, is still used for worship. The stables on the opposite side of the road, dating back to 1805, are now home to a Methodist heritage centre. To discover more about the buildings, scan the HistoryPoints QR codes there.
