Poppies on doors of Conwy war dead

Volunteers who researched the Conwy and Deganwy war memorials for HistoryPoints have placed poppies on the doors of 49 war dead. Each poppy has a card with the person's name and ...

other details, including their connection with that address. It's another way of helping local people to realise that the young men who died - some of them in notorious events such as Gallipoli and the Battles of the Somme - were from houses and ordinary backgrounds which are still familiar to us today. The poppies will remain in situ in Conwy and Deganwy until the end of tomorrow. The Facebook page for Poppies on Doors has photos and stories.
