Battle of the war memorial HiPoints


War memorials always dominate our list of Top 10 HiPoints in November, as readers use the QR codes and web pages to discover details of local war dead. So which ones got the most ...

viewings last month, of the 120 war memorials featured so far on HistoryPoints.org? You can see the Top 10 list on our Home page (scroll down to bottom right). The highest placed war memorial is the Falklands National Monument in Cathays Park, Cardiff, followed by our newly featured coverage of Y Felinheli war memorial in Gwynedd. Next were the Anglia anchor memorial in Holyhead, Merchant Navy memorial in Cardiff Bay and Conwy cenotaph, which got extra publicity after we used our research to place poppies on the doors of dead soldiers' homes. Also in the Top 10 are the First World War memorial in St Thomas' Church in Neath, and the North Wales heroes' memorial in Bangor. Close behind were war memorials in Abergavenny (Monmouthshire Regiment), Newport, Pontarddulais (near Llanelli), Aberystwyth and Bargoed (Caerphilly CB).
