Medieval lechery in Aberystwyth pews

When worshipping at St Padarn's Church, the 14th-century bard Dafydd ap Gwilym didn't always concentrate on the sermon, judging by a poem in which he describes ogling a female ...

member of the congregation. He also criticises the womenfolk of Llanbadarn, Aberystwyth, for spurning his amorous advances. Earlier writers associated with Llanbadarn chose more respectable topics, such as the history of the early church in Wales. St Padarn himself was part of that early history, and is said to have placed his hand in boiling water to prove his innocence to an accuser.
