boats during the Second World War. They were imported from North America and adapted by Saunders-Roe at Llanfaes for the RAF to use as long-range escorts for Atlantic convoys. The derelict hangars still stand but are largely hidden by trees if you're walking along the Wales Coast Path beside the Menai Strait.
