spilled through a gap between curtains. Jane Sheen of the Plas Winton Hotel had contravened the Defence of the Realm Act, which among other things stipulated precautions against raids by airships. The building's name was later changed to Hotel Commodore to reflect its role in the early part of the First World War as a billet for members of the Royal Army Medical Corps.
