Talgarth's WW1 story on your mobile

New QR codes at 11 places in Talgarth reveal how the First World War affected this small rural town. Two popular preachers, a postman and a clothes-shop manager were among the well-known ...

local figures who lost their lives. Our new WW1-themed self-guided tour, in conjunction with the Powys War Memorials Project, will take you past the homes of some of the men who died, the Town Hall - where young men rushed to enlist at a public meeting in 1914 - and the churchyard where a local nurse is among those buried in official war graves. The QR codes near the war memorial will reveal on your mobile details of the men listed on the memorial. You can read an introduction to the tour here or start the tour online at any of the featured web pages, for example here
