Colwyn Bay buildings
Colwyn Bay was once a fashionable resort and thriving commercial town, with many shops and facilities lining Conway Road and Station Road. Among them was the aptly-named Cosy Cinema, which still exists but has been a shop since the late 1950s.
Architects Sydney Colwyn Foulkes and Lawrence Booth designed many of the town’s most notable buildings.
Some of the finest buildings in Colwyn Bay, particularly in Old Colwyn, were made of limestone from the quarries immediately to the east.
