  • Edward Parry, Sergeant, 643093, died 19/02/1943, age 23. Royal Air Force 106 Sqdn. Awarded Distinguished Flying Medal. Memorial Runnymede Memorial. Son of Thomas John and Gertrude Maud Parry, of First Avenue, Rhos-on-Sea. He was awarded the DFM, a week before his death, for his part in a raid on Berlin in January 1943 when he and another gunner beat off an enemy fighter, shot down another fighter and then, when “coned” by searchlights, opened fire and extinguished several lights.
