  • Alfred William Hughes, Leading Aircraftman, 1178083, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Died 24/05/1942. Buried at Newmarket cemetery, Suffolk. Son of Alfred W Hughes and Louise Hughes of Llandudno Junction, husband of Helen Hughes of Llandudno Junction.
  • David John Hughes, Shipwright 4th Class, D/MX510247, Royal Navy (HMS Drake). Died 09/02/1944. Buried at St Agnes Churchyard, Conwy. Son of Richard and Ruth Morris Hughes of Conwy.

  • Hugh Frederick Hughes, Gunner, 1123342, Royal Artillery, 148 (The Bedfordshire Yeomanry) Field Regiment. Died 29/03/1943 aged 22. Buried at Kanchanaburi war cemetery, Thailand. Son of Richard and Jane Ellen Hughes of Conwy. Lived at 25 Bryn Tirion Park, Gyffin. He died of malaria and beri-beri at Tonchan camp while being forced to take part in building the Burma-Thailand railway, which was nicknamed “Death Railway”.

  • Thomas David Hughes, Sergeant, 7881710, Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Died 20/11/1942. Buried at Dely Ibrahim war cemetery, Algeria. Son of David and Sarah Ellen Hughes, husband of Elizabeth Hughes of Conwy.
  • Iorwerth Brian Evan Humphrey, Lieutenant, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. Died 14/06/1944 while in charge of HM Trawler Birdlip, built in Beverley in 1941 as an anti-submarine trawler. It was one of several ships attacked near Greenville, Liberia (west Africa), by a Nazi U-boat on 14 June 1944, when it sank. Commemorated on Lowestoft Naval Memorial, Suffolk.

Buried in St Agnes Churchyard, Conwy. Son of John Thomas Jones and Susannah Jones, husband of Ellen Jones of Conwy. Brother of Lance Corporal JA Jones, who died soon after the First World War.
  • Edward Lloyd Jones, Senior Ordinary Seaman, Merchant Navy. Died 07/11/1942 when cargo ship SS Roxby was torpedoed by U-boat in North Atlantic while carrying coal from Cardiff to Halifax, Canada. Commemorated at Tower Hill memorial, London.
  • Emlyn Jones, Ordinary Signalman, D/JX 162885, Royal Navy. Died 04/03/1942 when HMS Anking was sunk by Japanese warships off Java. Commorated on Plymouth Naval Memorial. Son of Richard and Ellin Jones of Conwy.
  • Glyn Jones, Sergeant, 4195412, Royal Welsh Fusiliers, 13th Battalion. Killed at a firing range in Northern Ireland on 06/03/1945 aged 27. Buried in St Agnes Churchyard, Conwy. Son of Robert Charles and Elizabeth Ann Jones, of 23 Penmaen Road, Conwy; husband of Lavinia Joyce Jones of Arundel, Sussex.
  • Gwilym Jones, 1796118, Gunner, Royal Artillery. Died 16/07/1945. Buried at Labuan, Malaysia. Son of Annie Jones of Llandudno Junction.
