Dwygyfylchi war memorial
The war memorial near St Gwynin’s Church lists men from the locality who died in the two world wars. They include Private John Edwards, who came from a farm at the top of the Sychnant Pass and was awarded France's Medaille Militaire for "reckless bravery" in rescuing a comrade from behind enemy lines.
