Son of pawnbroker Joseph Horton and Mary Elizabeth Horton, of 1, Temple Row, Wrexham. Lost with the sinking of the passenger ship RMS Leinster as it travelled towards Holyhead. Educated at King Edward’s School, Withernsea, Yorkshire, and Ashwell College, Harrogate. Worked in his father’s business before enlisting in February 1916.
