Last stop for Taff Vale Railway sprawl

Cardiff Bay station is the last survivor of the sea of tracks laid in the central docklands area by the Taff Vale Railway ...

from 1840. The original station was a such a sideshow to the business of exporting coal that there wasn't even a platform for passengers. Now there's just the one track, and no freight trains, but the original TVR HQ building still stands beside the station. It once hosted the consulates of several countries.
