Tragic past of Llanberis lake boat


Many people have enjoyed a pleasant cruise on Snowdon Star, the resident cruise boat of Llyn Padarn, Llanberis. But it might never have come to Wales ...

were it not for a lifeboat accident which killed one of its original owners in 1951. At that time it was providing cruises from Scarborough. Co-owner Frank Dalton was killed while serving as a local lifeboat volunteer, and the boat was soon sold.
