Prayers to pictures in Swansea

Seamen came to Swansea in the 19th century from across the globe, and a small church near the South Dock gave them a refuge from toil and danger, regardless ...

of their Christian denomination. The church was managed by the Seamen's Mission and became a warehouse after the First World War, when the focus of the docks had moved across the Tawe. Since the 1970s it has provided a haven of a different sort - where people can view works of art. Swansea art and design students get the chance to exhibit there, alongside established artists and craft workers from Wales and the wider world.
