the deal brokered by his local colleague, Prime Minister David Lloyd George. Mr Davies, a solicitor by profession, stood against the official coalition candidate and lost his Eifion seat. He re-entered the House of Commons briefly in the 1920s. He joined Labour in the 1930s but soon disagreed with its foreign policies.
