Birthplace of RAF mountain rescue


It's comforting to know the RAF will airlift us from the mountains if we get into big trouble, and it all started ...
at Llandwrog airfield during the Second World War. With novice aircrews being fast-tracked through training at Wales' largest airfield, there were many crashes in the mountains of Snowdonia.
