Making movies in the Co-op

On Sunday evenings you can buy food at the Co-op in Rhos-on-Sea, but in the 1930s silent movies were filmed ...
in the building at that time of the week. The cinema which occupied the Rhos Playhouse, as it was then known, was closed till Monday, so Rhos Amateur Film Productions took centre stage. Their first film was a thriller. Their second, exploring the workings of an "unhinged mind", won second prize in an international film competition.
