Llanddew's lofty dedicatees

The church at Llanddew, near Brecon, has had four dedicatees since it was founded by early Christians, as you can discover by scanning the new HistoryPoints QR codes in the noticeboard with your smartphone. God was the dedicatee when travel writer Gerald of Wales ...

had a house in Llanddew as Archdeacon of Brecon in the 12th century. Later the church was dedicated to the Holy Trinity, but is known today as St David's Church, after Dewi Sant, Wales' patron saint. 'Dewi' happens to be similar to 'Duw', Welsh for God. If you're not visiting the church or don't have a smartphone, you can find our information on the history of this ancient church here.
