Lady, your train awaits your carriage

Whenever Lady Erskine took the train to Chester from the new Colwyn railway station, everyone aboard had to wait ...

until her carriage arrived and she'd boarded the train. Only then could the train continue. This was a condition imposed when Lady Erskine agreed that a station could be built on her land. The station's opening triggered the development of Colwyn Bay, west of the established settlement now known as Old Colwyn. To read the station's history, scan the QR codes on the steel post by the entrance door, facing the car park. Or click here. Our thanks to Hippo Toys & Models for sponsoring this HiPoint page.
