Coronation contrast in Conwy
Our web page about Berry Street, Conwy, has a fascinating photo from Conwy Archives Service of soldiers parading to celebrate the 1937 coronation. The archives service recently collaborated with Conwy Camera Club to ...
present that image alongside a photo taken at the same spot on 6 May 2023, the day King Charles III was crowned. Various other locations shown in archive photos from 20th-century coronation celebrations were also revisited, and the results record a big change in social attitudes. You can view the results in a special display at the Conwy Culture Centre (home to the archives and library), and on the club's website.
