Ups and downs of a mooring post

A Cardiff Bay mooring post which was once driven into the ground has been restored by the Wales Millennium Centre and placed on public display, with HistoryPoints QR codes to tell its story. The post originally helped ...

secure ships in the oval basin but disappeared from view when a warehouse was built over the site. Its protruding cap became a trip hazard after the docklands were redeveloped. The restored post is now displayed in full (including the section originally below the surface) between the WMC and the end of Lloyd George Avenue.
