Wrexham's Channel Tunnel link
The Argyle Arch in Wrexham town centre is a long way from the Channel Tunnel, but on one of its walls there's a plaque by Eurotunnel in honour of William Low. He had the arch built as a dowry for his daughter ...
and was involved in the original project to dig a railway tunnel between England and France. The arch was still new when it was used as the grand entrance to Wrexham's Art Treasures Exhibition in 1876, held in a large glass-roofed pavilion. For more about the arch and exhibition, use your smartphone to scan the HistoryPoints QR code to the right of the arch in Hope Street (beside Dragon Travel Agents), or click here.
