Husband of Mrs Annie Bracegirdle of Mona Hotel. Worked in the South African mining industry before returning to Caernarfon before the war. Invalided home suffering gas poisoning after serving in France for three years.

Awarded the Military Cross, a fortnight before his death, for his bravery at the Battle of Loos on 25 September 1915. Buried at Le Treport Military Cemetery.
