We have included details of several men who had local connections but are not named on the memorial.

One of the men listed on the memorial, Charles Henry Bean, lived in Beaumaris after being evacuated as a schoolboy from Liverpool early in the Second World War. He was killed towards the end of the same war, while taking part in the liberation of Europe.
Stained glass windows in the church commemorate two of the men who died in the First World War: Major RGW Williams-Bulkeley and Captain JER Allen. Local historians, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, undertook detailed research on the First World War dead which was published in a book available in the church.
With thanks to Adrian Hughes of the Home Front museum in Llandudno and Byron Jones of the Merchant Navy Association (Wales). Also to the local historians who compiled the booklet 'Beaumaris & District - Lives of those who died during the First World War'
