Eglwysbach Heritage Trail
Eglwysbach Heritage Trail
Take the smartphone tour of Eglwysbach to get under the historical skin of this pretty village, a stone’s throw from the National Trust’s Bodnant Garden. You’ll discover where a mythical beast was buried, where horseshoes were mass produced for the Western Front in wartime, why farm livestock was commonly seen in the village, and many more fascinating facts.
You can start the tour by scanning any of the HistoryPoints QR codes you see in the village with your mobile. When you’ve read the web page, you can click on the ‘Next’ icon to move to the next page in the tour. The route takes you along one side of the street and back on the other side.
The smartphone tour complements the Heritage Trail booklet which is available from Siop y Llan. You’ll find additional information and old photos in the booklet. Likewise, the smartphone tour gives you some details and stories which aren’t in the booklet, as well as audio/video at several locations.
Many of the QR codes are on private homes. Please respect the residents’ privacy. We are grateful to Grŵp Treftadaeth Eglwysbach, Eglwysbach Community Council, and the many villagers who have made the smartphone tour possible.
