He had worked as a gardener for Miss Newton of Eithinog, Upper Colwyn Bay, and also for WH Smith and window cleanerS Lawton.

He was educated at Central School and sang in St Paul’s Church choir. Had worked for WH Smith and window cleaner S Lawton and before the war.
