This little bridge is named after Lady Maria North (Lady Bute), who lived with her family in Cardiff Castle.
The Bute family wanted a bridge here because they didn’t fancy swimming across the water to get to their gardens on the other side!
Lady Bute also asked the workmen to dig a well near the bridge, so that her family would always have clean water to drink. Can you spot it?
The bridge is now a nice place to stand to watch the ducks play in the water.
