Barmouth war memorial

This memorial was erected in honour of the local people who died on active service in the First World War. The names of the Second World War dead were later added, on the block above the FWW names.

An inscription on the memorial dedicates the monument and the adjacent park to the men who fought in the Great War of 1914-1918. Each panel of names is prefaced with: “Mewn angof ni chânt fod.” This means: “They shall not be forgotten.”
