The Western Front Association in Wales
The Western Front Association in Wales
The Western Front Association was formed to further interest in the period 1914-1918. Its principal objective is to perpetuate the memory, courage and comradeship of those of both sides who served in the war, without seeking to glorify war.
The South Wales branch, formed in 1982, holds monthly meetings with speakers from near and far talking about a wide variety of subjects concerning the First World War. The branch is involved with events by Family History Societies and other groups locally. Meetings are held on the first Friday of the month at 7.30pm at Fairwater Conservative Club CF5 2BY.
The North Wales branch generally holds meetings on the first Saturday of the month, at Craig y Don Community Centre, Queens Road, Llandudno, LL30 1TE (free parking). Doors open at 1.30pm for a 2.00pm start. Meeting includes a guest speaker, voluntary raffle and light refreshments. Non-members are welcome.
