National Cycle Network route 8

Route 8 of the National Cycle Network connects Holyhead to Cardiff. Some is on traffic-free paths. Elsewhere the route follows lanes which carry little road traffic.

Route 8 provides the main route option for Lôn Las Cymru, which has an alternative route (42) through South Wales. Route 42 diverges at Glasbury and leads to Chepstow via Abergavenny.

North of Porthmadog, Route 8 has been moved away from the village of Tremadog. Our tour follows the old route through Tremadog, because we think you’d like to see this historic model settlement and Lawrence of Arabia’s birthplace.

To follow our tour, scan one of the barcodes along the route to download your first HiPoint page. Then use the navigation icons at the bottom (beside the NCN banner) to see the next HiPoint page in your direction of travel.
